Library
membership & User services
Scope:
Every
student belonging to this college can subscribe to a library membership. Every subscribed member has access to the library's collection of books.
The
teaching and non-teaching staff of sister institutions on the college campus and any educational institute in Patan can also avail themselves of membership with the
prior permission of the principal and NGES Director.
Aim:
The important
Aim behind framing these policies is to make the proper usage of literature
available in the library.
General policies:
1.
FOR STUDENTS:
Students must keep their I-Card
with them.
2.
FOR STAFF:
It is compulsory for staff, whether Teaching or Non-Teaching, from the sister institutions
of the college itself, to keep their Identity card with them when
required.
3.
OTHER USERS:
The following users will be allowed to access the
library facilities upon their personal request
a.
Students doing research work
b.
Teaching staff and students who
are preparing for higher studies
c.
Graduates of H.N.G.U. with the prior
permission of the principal.
d.
Those users who are accessing some
particular information and fail to get anywhere else shall be allowed to
access if they get their required books/magazines from our library.
e.
Users those who are accessing some
particular information and the same is not available anywhere else.
f.
Certain information which is not
available anywhere else except in our library shall be made available to anyone on demand.
4.
For allowing anybody to enter the
library, the final
decision would be made by the librarian, the principal , and the NGES Director.
5.
There are certain precious and valuable
collections in the library. The use of such a collection would be limited to the
library premises. Moreover some electronic sources like CDs etc. would be at
the library’s disposal. For the convenience of the users, copies of CDs would be
made, if officially permitted by its publishers.
6.
The use of the internet will be only limited
to the students of this college and students of science college.
Collection
and Development:
Uses:
The following policies regarding the uses of the library collection
Aim:
1.
To become helpful in research
activities.
2.
The collection should be such that it
could generate information about state, national, and international levels.
3.
The collection which helps to enhance
the professional and competitive ability should be made.
General
Policies:
a. A collection of all those books published based on the syllabus should be maintained in the library.
b. The collection of those books should be increased which helps the students in further
development.
c. Publications
based on History, Geography, Maps, and charts should be maintained in the library. Moreover some important and special
collections should also be maintained.
d. Some
important collections of books must be purchased under UGC grant schemes.
e. Non-book material like CDs should be kept in its collection.
f. Purchase
a new title in the electronic version
where such a resource is available in both print and electronic format.
Security
Policy:
Scope:
This policy is based on the
security of collection of
the library.
Aim:
The
main aim of this policy is to protect every collection, special collection, and electronic collection thoroughly, clean them, and maintain them.
General
Policies:
1.
Looking to the area of library, number
of users and limited staff in library. The library collection is kept in close
access.
2. The scholar students of college,
students doing research & educational staff will have liberty to use the
library facility at the ease.
3.
There is a C.C.T.V fixed in the library
4. Paper set, materials are given
students to read within library premises, The facility would be given to
students only if they submit their I card with library.
